NEW DELHI: Taking cognizance of the report about problems which foreign tourists face due to demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denomination currency notes, UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has asked Chief Secretary Rahul Bhatnagar to coordinate with the senior bank officials in this regard.

Bhatnagar will talk to the bank officials for setting up separate counters for foreign tourists in Agra and Varanasi. Separate counters may help foreign tourists withdraw the new currency notes.

"UP CM Akhilesh Yadav has taken a serious note of the problems faced by foreign tourists due to demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 100 currency notes," a press release issued by Information and Public Relations Department, UP, said.
