LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has asked the home department officials to keep a close vigil on the situation in Ayodhya where the Vishwa Hindu Parishad brought two trucks of stone on Sunday for the stated objective of constructing a Ram Temple.

Police and home department officials held a review of the development in Ayodhya, where the VHP has sought to whip up emotions by reigniting the demand for construction of a grand temple at the disputed site of Ram Janam Bhoomi-Babri Masjid.

President of the Ram Janam Bhoomi Nyas, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das had performed Shila Pujan on the stones brought in Ayodhya on Sunday and even claimed that the Narendra Modi government was in the loop.

"Time has come for the construction of a grand Ram Temple at his birthplace. A large consignment of stones arrived today and more stones will come in the coming weeks," Mahant Nritya Gopal Das said.

Principal Secretary Home, Debashis Panda said that they were closely monitoring the situation and if there is any violation of court orders or an effort to breach law and order strict action would be taken.
