UP government can’t escape moral responsibility: Prabhu Narayan, RSS
Prabhu Narayan said ministers from the state must visit the bereaved families to express their sympathy and support and observe fast for a day.

“Whoever may be the culprit in the legal proceedings in this matter, the state government cannot escape moral responsibility. For this, all ministers in the state government and members of UP BJP organisation should do prayaschit (repentance),” Prabhu Narayan, RSS Prant Sanghchalak of Awadh region mentioned in his Facebook post. Speaking on phone to ET from Lucknow, Narayan said ministers from the state must visit the bereaved families to express their sympathy and support and observe fast for a day. “The state government’s ministers must learn from PM Narendra Modi on how to be sensitive and handle critical situations,” Narayan told ET.
In his Facebook post, Narayan asked the state government to hold a ‘Repentance Day’.
“By only making a few people the scapegoat after a probe will not serve the purpose,” he wrote. He said he was saddened by the remarks made by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Health Minister Siddharth Nath Singh at a press conference on the Gorakhpur deaths.
“It is right that the intentions of the present chief minister are good but it was not proper to cite statistics of previous deaths in the press conference,” Narayan has written in his Facebook post. “There was only statistical jugglery in the press conference and the sensitivity did not come through,” he told ET.
