The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet on Wednesday met in the Mahakumbh Mela area following which chief minister Yogi Adityanath announced several key connectivity projects, including the 320 km long Vindhya Expressway and the 100 km Vindhya-Purvanchal Link Expressway.

Addressing the media, Adityanath said these expressways will drive the region's social and economic development, complementing the state's existing network across the four regions - Paschimanchal, Madhyanchal, Purvanchal and Bundelkhand.

A new 320 km expressway will be built, linking Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Chandauli, and Sonbhadra, he said. It will provide direct connectivity between the Ganga and Vindhya Expressway, starting from the Ganga Expressway in Prayagraj and ending at NH 39 in Sonbhadra. The CM told the reporters that a wide range of topics, including policy matters on incentives in aerospace and defence sectors, and infrastructure development and specific issues related to Prayagraj, were discussed at the meeting. He also announced the construction of three new medical colleges in Baghpat, Hathras and Kasganj districts.

After the meeting, all Cabinet ministers, ministers of state (independent charge) and ministers of state took holy dip in Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj.
