NEW DELHI: CM Yogi Adityanath will visit the Taj Mahal on October 26 and announce development works around the monument in an exercise seemingly aimed at containing the damage caused by the uncharitable remarks of BJP MLA Sangeet Som against India’s leading tourist attraction. The list includes a garden walkway between the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, and a project to stop the damage being caused to the foundation of the Taj Mahal by the Yamuna.

The state government had earlier said it would spent Rs 370 crore on the development of the Taj Mahal and Agra. Som had on Sunday said Taj Mahal was a blot on India’s history and culture.
