UP civic polls proves Congress wrong, says Amit Shah
GANDHINAGAR: BJP national president Amit Shah targeted the Congress in his three public rallies across Kodinar, Mangrol and Veraval in Gir Somnath and Junagadh districts of Saurashtra on Friday.

Speaking at Veraval, he said that the result of civic polls in Uttar Pradesh had proved the Congress wrong “Congress has been saying ‘Congress aave chhe’(Congress is coming), but the people of UP have ensured ‘Congress gayee’(Congress is gone). Not only could they not win a single municipality, even the one in Amethi too has gone to BJP,” he added.

Shah quoted the latest figures of GDP and said “when GDP growth rate had gone down earlier,Congress had started screaming ‘slowdown is here’ but the party has gone silent after the figures came last night. Congress in Gujarat is fighting elections on issues of casteism and family, while BJP is fighting on issues of development. When Congress workers come to your society, ask them what their agenda is.”

Shah said that communal riots were rampant during Congress regime, but it has become a thing of the past during the last 15 years.Targeting Rahul Gandhi, Shah said that Congress should answer what it did for Gujarat from 1947 to 1995.He said that it was Narendra Modi who completed the Narmada dam, which was held up for 50 years by the Congress. He said that in Rahul Gandhi’s constituency, Amethi, several villages were yet to get an electricity connection.

Earlier, the state BJP celebrated BJP’s win in UP at the state BJP headquarters in Gandhinagar apart from holding celebrations across districts.
