AAP leader Sanjay Singh raised objections, citing an instance in which a voter's name, Ramhit Yadav, was translated into Hindi as 'Ram Ne Yadav Ko Maara'. Singh accused the CEO of being casteist. On October 26, the CEO's office responded on its X handle, saying, "We must also thank God that Ram did not kill any minority. Otherwise, in addition to being casteist, there would also be an accusation of being communal."
The post drew considerable attention, with several Opposition leaders reacting to it. Following the outrage, the CEO's X handle apologised the next day.
"The language level, tone, and sharp nature of the comments in the quoted post of this handle are not in line with the nature of communication expected from this official handle. The genuine outrage generated by the comments in the post has been duly noted. We sincerely apologise to those who are surprised and upset by this. From now on, our communication will be polite and formal," the post read.
The CEO's office is using social media to quickly resolve issues raised by political leaders as well as the common man during the electoral roll revision currently underway in the state.
