The UP BJP will begin a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ on September 17, combining yatras and welfare enrolment camps with outreach showcasing the Modi and Yogi governments’ achievements ahead of the 2027 assembly polls.
New Delhi: The BJP's Uttar Pradesh unit is set to use the month-long 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan', beginning on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday on September 17, to step up its grassroots outreach ahead of next year's assembly elections through yatras, cleanliness drives and government scheme enrolment camps.

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday shared the blueprint of the campaign at a joint press conference with the party's UP president Pankaj Choudhari in Lucknow.

The coordinated campaign between the party and the government will showcase the achievements of the central government over the past 12 years, as well as those of the state government over the last decade at all levels from gram panchayats and development blocks to tehsils and districts for a month.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's journey from his birthplace Vadnagar to his current constituency Varanasi is incorporated in the campaign, Adityanath told reporters.

Ten yatras each will be organised from Vadnagar to Kashi and from Kashi to Vadnagar. Those travelling to Vadnagar will carry holy water from 10 rivers of UP. "Chaupals and public interaction programmes will be held at four locations along the yatra route each day," he said.

All yatras will begin on September 17 and reach their respective destination on October 7 when Modi will complete 25 years as the head of a government - first as the chief minister of Gujarat and later as the prime minister.

A key component of the campaign will be 'Seva Setu' camps, which will be organised in each development block and municipal body across the state between September 29 and October 10, where people eligible for different government schemes, including pensions, health schemes, housing, toilets and ration cards, can register for those schemes. The government plans to complete the formalities and ensure linking such eligible persons with the schemes at the camp itself within 2-3 days of registration.

Modi's birthday will be celebrated as 'Seva Diwas'. An 'Ashirvad Ka Diya' will be lit at village panchayats, municipal bodies and other establishments across the state for people to "pray for the healthy and long life of the prime minister," Adityanath said.
