UP Assembly session likely to be stormy
With the ruling BSP deciding to bring a proposal for dividing Uttar Pradesh, the state Assembly session beginning on Monday is expected to be stormy.
The Mayawati government has already announced that it will bring the proposal for division of the state in the coming session, a move which has been dubbed as an election stunt by the opposition parties.
Samajwadi Party and BJP have announced their plans for bringing a no-confidence motion against the BSP government for pushing the state on the brink of disaster, deteriorating law and order situation and rampant corruption.
Leader of the Opposition Shivpal Singh Yadav has said SP would strongly take up the issues concerning the common people and expose the misgovernance and corruption of the Mayawati government in the House.
BJP leader Kalraj Mishra has stated his party would also bring a no-confidence motion.
However, Congress leader Pramod Tewari said it required a stipulated 14 days to give notice for such a motion and this session is not expected to last that long.
The session is expected to last for just a few days and in all likelihood be the last before the state goes to polls early next year.
