UP Assembly elections 2012: Candidates' profile UP Phase-IV

Uttar Pradesh Election Watch (UPEW) has analyzed affidavits of 297 candidates out of 966 candidates who are contesting the 4th Phase of Uttar Pradesh 2012 Assembly Elections

35% candidates (103/297) analysed for UP 4th phase have criminal cases. Out of 103, 49 have been declared serious cases like murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping, robbery, extortion.

Among these Ravidas Mehrotra SP, Lucknow Central has 7 serious cases, including charges of attempt to murder. Following him are Pushpendra Singh BSP, Rae Bareli who has has 4 serious cases including attempt to murder, Ramesh Srivastava Congress, Lucknow East who faces attempt to murder case, Dherendra Bahadur Singh BJP, Sareni who has attempt to murder case.
