BSP candidate from Meerut has been booked on charges of breaching the model code of conduct in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh.

MEERUT (UP): BSP candidate from Meerut has been booked on charges of breaching the model code of conduct in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh.

BSP candidate from Meerut constituency, Salem Ansari, and his supporters were booked for allegedly brandishing weapons during a rally here, DIG Prem Prakash said here today.

Another case was booked in Lishadi Gate police station against Ansari's supporters for holding a rally without prior permission, he said.

Earlier, SP candidate from Meerut (South) constituency Aadil Chaudhary was booked for allegedly brandishing weapons and displaying currency notes during an election rally, the DIG said.
