UP Assembly Election 2012: Priyanka says party respects Election Commission

Congress star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi today said that her party respects the Election Commission and it was not part of the "party's policy" to violate its edicts.

Congress star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi today said that her party respects the Election Commission and it was not part of the "party's policy" to violate its edicts.

"....we respect the Election Commission...during election time it sometimes happens...people keep saying certain things all the time...some in our party also say things which are wrong", she said replying to a question during an informal chat.

"How can it be a mandate (from the top)...it cannot be the party's policy", she said.

Priyanka, who is campaigning in the Congress bastions of Rae Bareli and Amethi continously since the past several days, has been exuding confidence of winning all the ten seats in the area.

Verma dared the EC to take action against him with his sub-quota for Muslims remarks which drew round criticism from friends and foes as also Congress party.
