UP Assembly adjourned amid noisy scenes
Kushwaha had sparked controversy by writing a letter to Mayawati alleging threat to his life from his party colleagues & some bureaucrats.
In the Legislative Assembly, BJP members jumped into the well, while SP MLAs raised slogans and displayed placards demanding dismissal of the BSP government immediately after the proceedings of the house started at 11 am following which Speaker Sukdeo Rajbhar adjourned the house till 12.30 pm.
Deputy leader of SP Legislative Party Ambika Chaudhary said the party has moved no-confidence motion against the government. He said that it was unfortunate that the Chief Minister was not present in the House on the first day of the winter session.
CLP leader Pramod Tiwari said the party would support no-confidence motion if given by any party other than BJP. He said the Congress would have brought the motion if it would have adequate number.
Parliamentary affairs minister Lalji Verma, however, said the government was very well in majority.
Proceedings were adjourned in the Legislative Council also amidst pandemonium by the opposition members, who were demanding presence of former cabinet minister Babu Singh Kushwaha in the House.
