Union Minister and local MP General (retd) V K Singh has adopted Mirpur Hindu village here under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

GHAZIABAD: Union Minister and local MP General (retd) V K Singh has adopted Mirpur Hindu village here under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"I got Mirpur Hindu village through lottery," the Union Minister of State for External Affairs told reporters on the sidelines of an event here today.

The former army chief said along with Mirpur Hindu village, he will adopt and develop a village every year during his tenure of five years.

He said other villages in his constituency will also be developed on a priority basis.

On the demand of lawyers for a high court bench, Singh said he will soon arrange a meeting of the advocates with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
