Union Minister Harsh Vardhan attends Yoga Day event at IIT Kharagpur

NEW DELHI: Union Minister Harsh Vardhan today attended the Yoga Day celebrations in IIT Kharagpur with students.

The Minister for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences also attended separate Yoga Day functions at two more places.

"I attended the Yoga Day celebrations at three places since 6 AM in the morning. One was at IIT Kharagpur. Second was at the Nehru Yuva Kendra and the third was at Patanjali Peeth," Harsh Vardhan said.

"...(Yoga guru) Ramdev popularised yoga in India. Now PM Narendra Modiji is globalizing Yoga. Feel proud to be Indian," the minister later tweeted.

The staff of his ministries attended the Yoga Day event on Rajpath.

"Practice yoga for healthy Mind and Body. Great Initiative by @narendramodi Ji reminded Indians of their proud heritage," Minister of State for S&T and Earth Sciences," Minister of State for for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Y S Chowdary tweeted.

Staff members of the Department of Atomic Energy, which is very frugal, attended the Yoga Day event on Rajpath.
