JAMMU: Union minister Jitendra Singh today said the Centre was committed to the development and welfare of the people of all parts of the country.

"The Union government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to the development and welfare of all parts of the country and the general public," Singh said.

The Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office was addressing a public meeting in Kathua district today.

The meeting was organised to create awareness about centrally-sponsored public welfare schemes and to listen to the grievances of the general public of the area.

Singh also said that a number of development projects like Keerian Gandyal bridge, Juthana bridge, Biotechnology park at Ghatti, Chhapar Kandi project, Multipurpose Ujh project have been sanctioned by the Centre for Kathua district.

The Minister said that 25-day vocational training programme will be started soon under which training will be provided to 500 youth.
