Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley shifted to special facility at AIIMS

NEW DELHI: The Union finance and defence minister Arun Jaitley has been shifted to a special isolation facility at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences ( AIIMS) on Sunday after doctors advised that he needed a few more days of rest to recover completely from an infection.

Jaitley was shifted to AIIMS from the Max Hospital located at Saket, Delhi where he had been admitted last Sunday.

Official sources said Jaitley has recovered satisfactorily from a respiratory infection and has been advised further rest for a few more days in complete isolation to avoid any recurrence of the infection, for which he would now be lodged at a special isolation facility which exists at AIIMS.

A Max Hospital statement, however, said that the recent stay of Jaitley at Max was due to a bout of gastroenteritis. “He has now recovered and has been discharged. He will be lodged for a few days at AIIMS in their special isolation facility, for rest and recuperation,” the statement added.
