Unfair 15 IIM protestors get noticed, common man’s sentiment doesn’t: Gujarat CM

NEW DELHI: Muslim appeasement will not work anymore as other communities are fast rejecting such vote-bank politics, Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani told ET on Tuesday, adding that what is happening at Shaheen Bagh “has completely exposed the politics of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.”

‘Shaheen Bagh has exposed how the opposition will never let go of Muslim appeasement. Both Kejriwal and the Congress are backing them. BJP is the only party that can guarantee that if Mohan and Mohammed are poor, Mohammed won't get more. Both will be treated equally,’ he said.

‘Only Muslims are there at Shaheen bagh. Why is only one community feeling so anxious? And Kejriwal is backing them. People can see through this. On the one hand, Kejriwal speaks about development and on the other, he supports them,” said-Rupani who was in Delhi for two days, to campaign for the BJP. He said it was natural for other communities to get angry when a “certain community is allowed to do what it wants.”


On the anti-CAA protests that happened in multiple places in Gujarat, including IIM Ahmedabad and Gujarat Vidyapeeth, Rupani said, ‘Only fifteen people in IIM, largely non-Gujaratis had protested against CAA.’ "That made news. In every district, there are are over 10,000 people coming out in support of CAA. Unfortunately these things are not being highlighted.”
