UNC to boycott Republic day celebration in seven newly created districts in Manipur
The tripartite talk was earlier scheduled to be held at Imphal on January 23. But the venue has been shifted to Delhi for UNC has reservation in attending meeting in Imphal.

The official joining is likely to take place shortly. Meanwhile United Naga Council which has clamped economic blockade on two highways since November 1 has decided to boycott Republic Day celebration on January 26 in the seven newly created districts.
The next round of tripartite talk between the Ministry of Home Affairs, UNC and Manipur government is likely to be held after Republic Day in New Delhi.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh held meeting with UNC functionaries and Manipur Chief Minister of Manipur, Okram Ibobi Singh last week in New Delhi to broker peace, however UNC is reluctant to lift the blockade.
Earlier on November 15 November, 2016, tripartite talks with Government of Manipur and UNC were called at New Delhi to discuss the economic blockade, which were not attended by Government of Manipur.
