MONROVIA/ LIBERIA: The United Nations says one of its helicopters has crashed while landing in Liberia, but there were no casualties.

A UN statement says a MI-8 helicopter with the peacekeeping mission's Ukrainian aviation unit crashed Saturday during a landing in the coastal city of Greenville.

It says no passengers were aboard and none of the four crew members were injured. The cause of the crash was not immediately known.

The UN has about 15,000 troops in Liberia to maintain security after a civil war that ended in 2003.
