JHANSI: A train was allegedly stopped by supporters of Union Minister for Water Resources Uma Bharti at Jhansi station after the minister was late by a few minutes, even as the authority denied such an incident.

The alleged incident occurred on the intervening night of March 8 and March 9 at around 12.15 am when Gurudwara Express reached Jhansi station.

As the minister was late by few minutes her supporters allegedly pulled the chain to stop the train. The train could leave at 12.30 am, sources said.

When contacted Public Relation Officer of North Central Railway, Pavi Prakash said that he has no information about any such incident. He said that there was no question of stopping a train for a minister.
