Uma Bharti calls for legislation to counter B'desh infiltration

Bharatiya Janshakti Party leader Uma Bharti felt that there is need to have stringent legislation to counter infiltration from Bangladesh. She is in Assam campaigning for BJP prime ministerial candidate L.K. Advani.

GUWAHATI: Bharatiya Janshakti Party leader Uma Bharti felt that there is need to have stringent legislation to counter infiltration from Bangladesh. She is in Assam campaigning for BJP prime ministerial candidate L.K. Advani. Terming Advani a personality who could lead the country, she said that her party is supporting the BJP primarily on issues of infiltration, Ram Mandir and Ram Setu.

The former BJP leader explained that her relationship with BJP is like Nitish Kumar of JD(U), Prakash Singh Badal of Akali Dal and Bal Thackery of Shiv Sena have with the BJP. On Monday, she campaigned at Jagiroad in Morigaon district, Lal Ganesh and Fancy Bazar in Guwahati. On Tuesday, she will be address an election rally at Kharupetia in Darrang district and Pandu in Guwahati

She argued that, "There is a need for a very strong act to halt infiltration from Bangladesh as it affecting the whole country. Because of this infiltration, bomb blasts are taking place in the state."
