CHANDIGARH: United Kingdom has evinced keen interest in mutual cooperation with Haryana in the field of education, innovation and skill development.

This came to light when British Deputy High Commissioner David Lelliott called on Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here today.

Stressing the need for innovation, Hooda said the British government should set up centres of excellence in areas of skill development and innovation as there are ample opportunities for research and employment in these areas.

On this, Lelliott said Haryana is a favourite destination of foreign countries for investment and assured Hooda that he would take it up with authorities back in his country.

The Chief Minister apprised Lelliott that many multi-national companies have invested in Gurgaon for its proximity with Delhi. Apart from this, the state had attracted large number of entrepreneurs from all over the world due to its industrial friendly environment.

When asked about cyber and data security, Hooda said, "we are a cyber secure state and there is no threat to data security. However, hacking is a worldwide threat which needs to be addressed immediately."
