Udupi case: Home Minister G Parameshwara wonders why Khushbu didn't visit Manipur

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara questioned the propriety of National Commission for Women (NCW) member Khushbu Sundar visiting Udupi to probe the incident involving three girls filming a college mate while using the washroom, but not Manipur where two women were paraded naked.

Parameshwara said he was not objecting to Sundar's visit to Udupi, but was only wondering whether the incident matched that of the one in Manipur in magnitude, where the NCW did not bother to visit, he said.

Sundar, a popular South Indian actor before she entered politics, told the media in Udupi that there was no truth in the reports that there were hidden cameras in toilets at the para-medical college. There were also false videos going around. "We are talking to the police. The investigation from the police department and the investigation from our side will continue, and we'll come to a conclusion very soon."


The visit followed an FIR by the Udupi Police naming three female students and the college management over an incident involving the three students filming their fellow student. The college suspended the three students as soon as the allegations emerged.
