While the meeting marks the build-up for speeding up the alliance talks between MVA partners for the Maharashtra Assembly poll, during the meeting Thackeray also stressed on the need for more frequent meetings of INDIA bloc leaders and a coordination mechanism, including a convenor, for the Opposition alliance. Thackeray also held talks with NCP (SCP) leader Sharad Pawar also.
Thackeray later told media that efforts will be to complete seat-sharing talks within a month and MVA will fight with a common election manifesto. On whether he would be the CM candidate of MVA, Thackeray said the leadership issue would be amicably decided by MVA leaders. Thackeray ruled out any rethinking on alliance with the BJP, saying the latter betrayed him and tried to finish off his party. Party leaders Aditya Thackeray and Sanjay Raut accompanied Thackeray to the meetings.
