Two NDRF teams rushed to Imphal for relief and rescue operations following earthquake: Rajnath Singh
GUWAHATI: Two teams of National Disaster Response Force have been rushed to Imphal from Guwahati, Union home minister Rajnath Singh said in the wake of the earthquake on January 4.

"I have talked to the chief secretary of Manipur as chief minister O Ibobi Singh could not be contacted. We have assured both Assam and Manipur that all possible help will be extended to North-eastern states," said Singh, who was in Guwahati.

About six persons have been killed and several injured in Manipur. In Assam, too, there are reports of injury to several people.
