A squad of District Force was conducting a combing exercise in Kurusnar police station area of Bryant, located around 400 kms away from the state capital, when it spotted the ultra, hiding in Jharawahi forests to keep an eye on the movement of security forces, the official said adding that after surrounding the spot, security personnel nabbed him.
Lakhmu, the head of Jharawahi Jantana Sarkar (people's government), was active in the outlawed CPI (Maoists) since 2004-05, he said.
He was involved in several incidents of naxal offences and was carrying a reward of Rs 10,000 on his head, the official said.
In a separate incident, a joint squad of DF and Border Security Force (BSF) nabbed the Maoist - Raje from Siksoda police limits during a search operation in Kanker district, he added.
