Jailor of the district jail has confired that three prisoners died in separate incidents during the past three days.

MUZAFFARNAGAR: Two more prisoners of the district jail died in separate incidents here, police said today.

The number of death toll has risen to 3 in as many days, they said.

According to jail sources, undertrial Sudhir Kumar(30) allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling in the prison here yesterday.

Sudhir was arrested in a case of attempt to murder here on September 1. This is the second incident of suicide in a jail. Two days back, Sumit allegedly committed suicide in a jail barrack, they added.

Meanwhile, 40-year-old Kalla, undergoing his sentence in the district jail in a case of illegally possessing arms, died due to illness here, police said today.

Kalla was a patient of tuberculosis. He was rushed to a district hospital where he was declared brought dead yesterday, Mizazi Lal, jailor of the district jail said.
