Two held for alleged links with blast suspect
Two persons, one of them a Bangladeshi and believed to be linked with a Gujarat blasts suspect, were arrested today by a team of Delhi Police.
Five crude bombs and one country-made fire-arm and some rounds of ammunition were recovered from the duo who were picked up from Santipara under Bhoktinagar police station area in Jalpaiguri district in the wee hours, Inspector General of Police (North Bengal) K L Tamta said.
The arrests were made after Delhi Police interrogated one Muhammad Hakim on July 25 in connection with the recent serial blasts in Gujarat who had divulged information about few of his associates in Santipara.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (crime), Sitaram Sinha told PTI one of the arrested persons was a Bangladeshi national Yessin Muhammad (25) and the other Muhammed Maniuddin (42).
Police last night detained five persons from the area but three were later released while the two were put under arrest.
Serial blasts rocked Ahmedabad on July 26, killing 49 people and injuring several others.
