During the operation, the jawans accidentally stepped on a pressure bomb planted by the extremists, leading it to explode and cause injuries to them, he said.
The injured were identified as Tilak and C J Reddy, both constables. A helicopter was sent to the spot to retrieve the duo, the officer said, adding they were airlifted to Raipur, about 400 km from Sukma, for treatment.
Armed rebels had ambushed and killed 14 CRPF personnel in the same region of Sukma district early last month.
