Two assailants involved in Suryapet firing killed in encounter
Police also recovered one carbine that was taken away by the assailants from Uttar Pradesh besides two country-made weapons from the encounter site, the DIG said.

"Two assailants involved in the April 2 Suryapet incident were killed this morning even as one constable died and two others-- one inspector and one SI-- were injured during the encounter under Mothkur Police Station limits of Nalgonda district," DIG (Hyderabad Range) Y Gangadhar told .
Police also recovered one carbine that was taken away by the assailants from Uttar Pradesh besides two country-made weapons from the encounter site, the DIG said.
On April 2, two policemen--constable Lingaiah and Home Guard Mahesh-- were killed while three others including Circle Inspector Moghalaiah and a Home Guard Kishore suffered bullet injuries after two armed assailants opened fire on them during vehicle checking at a bus stand in Suryapet town in Nalgonda.
According to police, the assailants, while on the run had also fired at some cars soon after the incident that day and injured a Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) member Dorababu who suffered bullet injuries on his shoulder.
The government had announced an ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakh to the family of Lingaiah and Rs 10 lakh to Mahesh's family.
