Truce finally? Ugandan Minister agrees for lunch with Gill

A day after skipping a dinner organised by Sports Minister, Ugandan sports minister Charles Bakkabulindi has agreed for a lunch at his Indian counterpart's residence.

NEW DELHI: A day after skipping a dinner organised by Sports Minister M S Gill, Ugandan sports minister Charles Bakkabulindi has agreed for a lunch at his Indian counterpart's residence here this afternoon.

Sports Ministry sources said Bakkabulindi along with his family would be attending the lunch signalling some sort of a truce after the Ugandan Minister minced no words following a freak accident in the Games Village in which three of his officials including the Chef De Mission received injuries.

An angry Bakkabulindi had on Thursday demanded an apology from Indian authorities for the accident.

"Despite this mistake they are yet to apologise. The government has not come out officially to apologise to our team. They are the ones who have caused the accident, they should say sorry and we are taking necessary steps. We are seeking for an apology, we are so disappointed," he had said.

The Minister had skipped a dinner hosted by Gill for the sports Minister of all African nations as part of the 19th Commonwealth Games.
