TRS wants promise implemented;warns protests

TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao warned of intensifying the Telangana agitation from tomorrow if the Centre continued to dilly-dally.

HYDERABAD: TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday warned of intensifying the Telangana agitation from tomorrow if the Centre continued to dilly-dally on the issue and demanded immediate steps for formation of a separate state.

"Buses and trains would not move. Telangana will be like a furnace from tomorrow. You (Centre) should not delay the formation of Telangana any further," he said.

"I appeal to the Prime Minister to take immediate steps for formation of separate statehood. You have to implement the promise you made. The patience of Telangana people should not be tested any further," he said.

Rao expressed confidence that formation of a separate Telangana is unstoppable now as political leadership of the region has come under one roof.

"When Congress MPs were not allowed to see the dead body of Telangana ideologue K Jayashankar at Warangal recently, I asked them why they are facing such insults. Are we not there? Your resignations will not be accepted. If they are accepted and bypolls come, then Telangana people will bless you," he said.

All the agreements, Government Orders and assurances given for protection of Telangana rights have been violated or not implemented properly, he alleged.
