Tripura media houses forms a platform to pursue probe into journos killing

With two journalists being killed in two months in Tripura, journalists and media houses have formed a common platform to pursue investigation into the killing.

The organisation is christened as Forum for Protection of Journalists (FPJ). As many as 22 dailies published black editorial on Thursday protesting the murder of journalist Sudip Datta Bhowmik by Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawan on November 21.

On Saturday FPJ has convened a protest rally demanding refereeing the death of Sudip Datta Bhowmik and Shantanu Bhowmik to CBI for probe and enactment of a law for the protection of journalists from violence.


FPJ stated that it is upset with the role of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar. “We may decide to boycott all the government programme if our demands are not fulfilled” FPJ added.
