Tripura launches Whatsapp number for corruption complaints

GUWAHATI: Tripura government has launched a Whatsapp number for people to launch complaints about corruption, with chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb promising to take action "within 24 hours"

CM Biplab Kumar Deb tweeted, “Our aim is Zero tolerance policy against corruption. To bring more transparency in governance, we are launching a Whatsaap no : 8794534501, where you can complaint with evidence regarding any corruption and we will take action within 24 hours. Your identity will be kept secret.”

Sanjay Mishra, OSD to the Tripura Chief Minister told ET, “Recently there was some complaint pertaining to purchase related to National health mission and the government took necessary action within shortest possible time.”


“The chief minister has made it clear to administration that there will be no compromise on Corruption. BJP led government after coming to power has been able to free the public distribution system of the state from the bogus ration cards holders. There were lakhs of bogus card holders leading to leakage,” he added.

He said that state has largely managed to check leakages. " We want the people to come forward if they complaint supported by evidence and we will initiate action against corruption charges."
