When Saugata Roy was allowed to briefly to speak on the issue, he charged the NDA regime with political misuse of CBI. Pointing out that BJP, as an Opposition party used to say that the CBI had become the “Congress Bureau of Investigation”, he said the same party was using similar methods to unleash the agency on its political rivals.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu rejected the Trinamool charge and claimed, “the NDA regime does not believe in misusing CBI like the erstwhile UPA regime.” Naidu also protested the Trinamool Congress MPs taking the name of BJP president Amit Shah.
