“I know no criminal proceedings can be done against the Governor. I know the Constitutional provision. But I will request each and every one to lodge complaints in police stations if the Governor is provoking violence and dividing people on the basis of religion. The day he will not be Governor, a case can be initiated against him and he can be put in Presidency Jail where he has sent four persons,” Kalyan Banerjee said.
Replying to this, Dhankhar tweeted that he was “stunned” by the comments of such a senior parliamentarian, advocate and AITC functionary.
Drawing the attention of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Bar Council of India and Editor’s Guild, the Governor tweeted: “He is senior functionary @AITCofficial, a senior parliamentarian and a senior advocate. Just stunned but leave the matter to the sound discretion of the cultured people of West Bengal and media.”
