Trinamool march today

Trinamool had called for the ‘March to Lalbazar' after the Oct 8 arrest of party activist Swarup Biswas in connection with the October 4 violence at Charu Market.

KOLKATA: Taking exception to CPM youth wing DYFIs reported statement that it would keep a watch on the Trinamool Youth Congress march to the city police headquarters on Monday, TC chief Mamata Banerjee on Sunday warned that the government would be responsible for any untoward incident during the march.

The DYFI says it will be on the streets tomorrow to scuttle our programme. The police has kept bullets, batons, water cannons and mounted police ready for the programme tomorrow. Ours will be a peaceful programme. If anything happens, the government will be responsible, she told reporters here.

The Trinamool had called for the March to Lalbazar (city police headquarters) after the October 8 arrest of party activist Swarup Biswas in connection with the October 4 violence at Charu Market. Ms Banerjee said she would remain at her party office during the programme. But if anything happens, I will have to go to the spot.

Accusing CPM of dictating the administration on every matter, Ms Banerjee said the party was doing this as it was losing political ground.
