Trinamool forms quick response team to cope with growing cases of crime against women
The recent death of a 16-year-old girl of Madhyamgram who was gang raped and allegedly murdered by some close associates of the culprits.

This was announced by the party's all-India general secretary Mukul Roy who had been addressing party MPs, MLAs and panchayat functionaries in North 24-Parganas district which had witnessed all major crimes against women in the past one year. Roy also asked party leaders to hold rallies at Madhyamgram on January 24 and at Barasat on January 27 to condemn the recent incidents and raise an awareness campaign among the people.
Incidents of Kamduni and Madhyamgram have already drawn the attention of the national media and the ruling Trinamool Congress suspects involvement of their opposition party CPIM which is making frantic moves to extract political mileage over such incidents of rapes and molestation.
The recent death of a 16-year-old girl of Madhyamgram who was gang raped and allegedly murdered by some close associates of the culprits, has undoubtedly embarrassed Mamata Banerjee's government. The girl and her family hail from Bihar and the victim's family had met the chief minister Nitish Kumar and decided not to return to West Bengal to earn their livelihood. The victim's father is a taxi driver and very close to CPIM's trade union arm, Citu.
Addressing the gathering of party functionaries, Roy blamed the CPIM for conspiring against Mamata Banerjee government by making the law and order issue a political one. "The CPIM is frustrated to see Mamata Banerjee's growing popularity and her government's pro-people policies and speedy implementation of those. Naturally, the CPIM is trying to gain politically by using such law and order problems which is very common in almost all the parts of our country," Roy told his fellow party workers.
It is reliably learnt that the ruling party, by utilising it's newly-formed QRT will try to neutralise CPIM's effort to do politics over rape incidents.
