Trinamool Congress urges trade unions to stay away from strike tomorrow

TMC leader Sobhandev Chattopadhyay urged all trade unions to stay away from tomorrow's countrywide bandh.

KOLKATA: Trinamool Congress leader Sobhandev Chattopadhyay today urged all trade unions to stay away from tomorrow's countrywide bandh called by NDA and the strike in West Bengal by CPI(M)-led Left Front against fuel price hike and FDI in multi-brand retail.

"We appeal to keep life normal in the state tomorrow and not to support any strike as this will entail a huge revenue loss," he said.

He asked the Left Front to respond to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's call not to go for strike tomorrow in the state.

"There should be no response to the call for a shutdown tomorrow," Chattopadhyay, who is the government chief whip, said.
