Trinamool Congress leader Abu Ayesh Mondal abuses, hits toll plaza employee

DANKUNI(WB): Trinamool Congress leader and West Bengal Minority Development and Finance Corporation chairman Abu Ayesh Mondal has allegedly abused and hit a toll plaza worker here with a shoe.

According to a complaint lodged with the local police by Dankuni toll plaza employees and workers last night, Mondal had yesterday abused and threw a shoe at toll plaza employee Bikas Chowdhury.

Mondal's driver had picked up his shoes and returned it to Mondal, who was in the car, the complaint said.

"Everybody had seen it," Chowdhury, who himself claims a TMC worker, said.

When asked he said the workers had gone to check at the VIP lane at the toll plaza whether there was really one seated in the vehicle.

Mondal too lodged a complaint with Dankuni police station today saying 'totally false' allegations are being levelled against him.

"I have not hit anybody with any shoe, nor insulted anybody ... Rs 500 bribe was sought from me by Dankuni toll plaza workers," Mondal said.

"It is 100 per cent got up... To which party they (toll bridge employees) belong to is not known to me ... Everyday I take this route and nobody has ever asked me to pay any kind of toll tax so I have never paid ... They do it everyday to disturb me," he said.

"We are investigating the matter," police said.
