All India Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee and party national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee reached Goa on Sunday where they will address public meetings, hold discussions with new alliance partners and conduct meetings with the Goa AITC party cadres, ahead of the Goa assembly polls early next year.

Banerjee will participate in three public meetings in the state during her three-day visit.

Induction of several heavy weights, organisational expansion and discussion on alliances and review of the poll preparedness ahead of the assembly polls, are on the anvil. The focus of the visit would be discussions with various poll alliance partners, AITC sources told ET.

She will also address a public meeting at Banaulim on December 13. Two more public meetings - in Panjim and Assanora - will be held on December 14, sources said.

Mamata Banerjee and Abhisek Banerjee will hold meeting with party cadres in Goa on Monday afternoon where the formation of a state committee of the Trinamool Congress is likely to be decided. Discussions on the expansion of the Trinamool Congress Goa are scheduled on December 13.

Banerjee had last visited Goa in October. This is her second visit ahead of the polls. The Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) and Trinamool Congress entered into a pre-poll alliance last week and announced that it would contest the forthcoming Goa assembly elections along with the Trinamool Congress.
