Tribal bodies deadline to Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang to step down ends today
Nagaland congress committee held a meeting and deliberated on the ongoing impasse. NPCC will send a delegation to Delhi to apprise AICC on the present situation.

There is a sense of fear in Nagaland as last week the state has witnessed large scale arson following Nagaland Tribes Action Committee (NTAC) demanding resignation of Chief Minister Zeliang and his cabinet. Nagaland is on boil as tribal bodies are opposing 33 percent reservation for women in the urban local bodies (ULBs).
There is mobilization of tribal volunteer in the different areas. Zeliang has discussion with Union Home minister, Rajnath Singh. Zeliang also met BJP’s national general secretary Ram Madhav in New Delhi.
Nagaland Pradesh congress committee (NPCC) held a meeting and deliberated on the ongoing impasse. NPCC will send a delegation to Delhi to apprise AICC on the present situation.
NPCC stated has resolved to amend Nagaland Municipal Act, 2001 as amended upto date in consultation with all the stake holders in the spirit of Art 371 A. This article accords special protection to the state of Nagaland.
Congress added that there is need to solve the Naga political problem through peaceful and constitutional means.
