Transfer all money under PM-Cares to PMNRF: Sonia Gandhi

New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding the transfer of all money under PM-Cares Fund to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to “ensure efficiency, transparency, accountability and audit in the manner in which these funds are allocated and spent”.

Proposing a set of austerity measures to mop up resources for battling Covid-19, she demanded the suspension of the Rs 20,000-crore ‘Central Vista’ beautification and construction project.

She has also proposed a proportionate reduction of 30% in the expenditure budget (other than salaries, pensions and central sector schemes) for the Government of India and putting on hold foreign travel of leaders and parliamentarians from the President onwards.
