Training to Sri Lanka military to impact sovereignty of India

UDHAGAMANDALAM: If the Centre continued to impart training to Sri Lankan military officials in Tamil Nadu, it would have seriousl impact on the sovereignty of the country, MDMK General Secretary Vaiko said today.

Addressing a public meeting at nearby Coonoor to protest training given to Sri Lankan personnel in Tamil Nadu, Vaiko said that by this action the Centre had hurt the sentiments of crores of Tamils across the globe.

If it continued, it would have serious and far-reaching consequences and impact the sovereignty of the country, he said.

Bowing to the pressure of Tamil Nadu government and political parties, two Sri Lankan officials had to rush back to their native yesterday, who were on training since May 27 in the College.
