Train and Bus services in Rajasthan disrupted
Rail and road traffic between Rajathan and other states were badly hit for the second day today due to the ongoing violent agitation by Gurjars over the ST rpt ST quota issue.
"All the Rajasthan Raodways buses plying from Delhi towards Rajasthan have been kept suspended. We are waiting for the situation to improve," the state information office said.
Other state-run transport service, including the Haryana and Delhi roadways, did not ply on Rajasthan routes, although officially no suspension has been ordered.
Keeping in mind passenger safety, As many as 41 trains were cancelled by Northern Railway, North Western Railway, Western Railway and West Central Railway, an official release today said.
Protestors have damaged rail tracks on the Kota and Sawaimadhopur section. Most of the trains between Jaipur-Mumbai and Jaipur-Madhya Pradesh were hit by the track damage, a north west railway spokesman said.
Some private bus operators were running a few buses through Rewari route.
Barring the Jaipur-Jodhpur routes, almost every rail and bus route in the state is disrupted .
Stranded tourists thronged the Sanganer airport where there was no seat on any outbound flight, an official said.
Jet Airways, Indian Airlines, Go-Air, Kingfisher, and Air Deccan flights are booked for next two days, he said.
