NEW DELHI: Major streets in Lutyens' Delhi in and around the Rajpath would be blocked for few hours tomorrow in view of the ' Run for Unity' event, in which around 15,000 persons are expected to participate.

The event that marks the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is scheduled to be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi here.

"Rajpath and Rafi Marg will be closed from 5.00 am to 9.30 am while Janpath and Man Singh Road shall be closed between 7.00 am to 9.30 am for general public in order to facilitate smooth conduct of the function,," Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sandeep Goel, said.

Commuters taking Vinay Marg or Shanti Path to head towards central New Delhi and beyond may take Sardar Patel Marg - Mother Teresa Crescent - the roundabout RML Hospital - Baba Khadak Singh Marg or Park Street - Mandir Marg and proceed further to New Delhi and areas beyond that, police said in an advisory issued today.

Traffic diversions shall be suitably enforced on roads in the vicinity of Rajpath, where participants will arrive in buses and cars, police added.
