Trade union body says labour rights violated at Wistron facility; seeks fair probe
AITUC Bengaluru president M Deepak said the Taiwanese manufacturer had disproportionately hired a high number of contract workers against the common principle to employ permanent workers for work of perennial nature.

AITUC Bengaluru president M Deepak said the Taiwanese manufacturer had disproportionately hired a high number of contract workers against the common principle to employ permanent workers for work of perennial nature. “Payment of wages was an area of concern for all workers. Delayed payments and illegal deduction of wages were the order of the day in the factory,” AITUC said in a press release, on Wednesday.
The labour union said the personnel and human resources policies of the company were also flawed right from the stage of recruitment.
The trade union appealed to the state government to carry out a fair probe and come out with solutions to address the root cause of issues. “We believe that the workers' perspectives must be factored in and long term solutions and lessons must be drawn from this experience,” the union said.
