Top US intelligence man meets PC and NSA
McConnell, who arrived in India on Monday discussed with the Indian leaders the evidence gathered from the investigation into the Mumbai terror attacks.

US Director of National Intelligence (DNI) John Michel McConnell met home minister P Chidambaram, NSA M K Narayanan and top intelligence officials to share the US experience of setting up homeland security after the 9/11 terror attack.
Mr McConnell, who arrived here on Monday discussed with the Indian leaders the evidence gathered from the investigation into the recent Mumbai terror attacks. He was accompanied by US ambassador David Mulford. The FBI is also probing the Mumbai carnage, in which six Americans were among those killed. The US has also offered training courses for senior Indian intelligence officials.
The DNI came into being after the 9/11 attack in the US and New Delhi is hoping to learn from the US experience in combating terrorism. India, which has recently passed a law for creation of a National Investigating Agency (NIA), has been poring over measures taken by the US to prevent terror attacks.
