Top policy makers to converge in Guwahati on October 17 and 18
GUWAHATI: Policy markers are expected to converge in Guwahati on October 17 and 18 2014 for Northeastern region (NER) Infrastructure Conclave 2014-Unlocking Investment Potential in NER Infrastructure Developmentā€.

PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry is organizing the event. Doner minister V K Singh, Sarbananda Sonowal Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Uma Bharti Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs is expected to participate in the event.

According to PHD chamber there is tremendous investment opportunities in NER in Transport Infrastructure, Inland waterways, Power, Hydro Power, Urban Infrastructure, Water, Telecom, Agriculture Infrastructure, Multimodal Logistic, Tourism Infrastructure and Waste Management. Approximately 4590 lakh tonnes construction material like cement, steel etc would be required for next thirty years in NER.

The Conclave will identify gaps in implementation of relevant policies, share good practices and lessons learned in order to work towards the development of North Eastern Region to reach the same level of economic growth.
